What is a QR code?

A QR code or Quick Response code is a form of barcode that can commonly be read by smartphones, either natively or via a downloadable (free) app which can decode the content – usually a web address, sms message, phone dialer etc.

They effectively bridge the gap between offline and online, allowing real world consumers to access digital information via their phones.
